Service guides / Cleaning
Compare cleaning quotes by scope and exclusions as well as the total. Two prices are only comparable when they cover the same result.
Check these cost components
- Labour and expected duration
- Products and equipment
- Windows, carpets and waste exclusions
Ask for an itemised proposal
Request a description of the work, quantities or service duration, materials supplied and items excluded. Ask whether transport and taxes are included and how long the proposal remains valid. Obtain confirmation of any assumption that could change the final amount.
Make a comparison sheet
Use one column per provider and a row for each cost component above. Mark an unclear item as a question rather than treating it as included. Separate optional work from the base scope so a cheaper total does not hide a missing task.
Agree how changes are priced
Ask who may authorise additional work and how it will be recorded before it begins. Keep the accepted quote and written changes together. Clarify the payment stages and the deliverable attached to each stage.
Before accepting
An occupied office clean, an end-of-tenancy clean and a post-building clean have different priorities. If the proposals describe different approaches, ask each provider to explain why. Choose on the basis of a scope you understand and can check, rather than a headline price alone. No standard price is assumed by this guide; request a quote for your actual job.
